SAFFRON DREAMS

I keep hoping
Someone else will
Dazzle my dreams
With trees adorned by
Glorious saffron strands,
Like you once did.

SPARE ROOM

Why am I holding on
To these old things
When you are
The treasure
In my box?

OPHELIA

Silly orange cat
With pleading eyes
And plaintive meows
At shut cabinet doors,
Yearning for
Plastic bags.

REGRETS

Handsome stranger
On the Promenade,
How I wish I had
Accepted your offer.

TYPHOON

Rain weeps
Outside my window —
Not so rare
These days,
The second coming
Of El Niño.
